Terms of Use

The terms that apply when you use the WorkCalc UK website, its calculators and its guides.

Last updated: 19 September 2026

The short version

  • The calculators and guides are free to use for your own information.
  • Results are estimates, not financial, tax or legal advice.
  • Check important figures with your payslip, your employer, HMRC or a qualified adviser before acting on them.
  • Please do not copy the site's content or calculators for commercial use without permission.

1. About these terms

These terms apply to your use of workcalc.co.uk ("the site"), run by WorkCalc UK ("we", "us", "our"). By using the site you agree to them. If you do not agree, please do not use the site. Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle information.

2. Information only, not advice

The calculators, tables and guides give general information and estimates based on the assumptions stated on each page, such as a standard tax code or a full year of employment. They are not financial, tax, legal or employment advice and do not take account of your personal circumstances. Your actual pay, tax, holiday or entitlements may differ.

Before making a decision that matters, such as accepting a job offer, signing a settlement agreement, changing pension contributions or disputing pay, check the figures with your employer, HMRC, Acas, Citizens Advice or a qualified professional.

3. Accuracy and updates

We build our calculators from primary sources such as HMRC, GOV.UK and legislation.gov.uk, and we review them when rates and thresholds change. Even so, rules change and mistakes can happen, and we do not guarantee that every figure is complete, accurate or up to date at all times. Each page shows the tax year it uses and when it was last verified. If you spot an error, please tell us through the Contact page.

4. Using the site

You may use the site for your own personal, non-commercial purposes, and you may share links to any page. You must not:

  • copy, republish or sell the site's content, calculators or data, in whole or in substantial part, without our written permission
  • use automated tools to scrape the site or to place an unreasonable load on it
  • attempt to gain unauthorised access to the site, its server or any connected systems
  • use the site for anything unlawful or misleading

5. Intellectual property

The text, calculators, code, images, infographics and design of the site belong to WorkCalc UK or are used with permission. Short quotations with a link back to the relevant page are welcome. Rates, thresholds and legislation quoted on the site belong to their official publishers.

6. Links to other websites

We link to official and third-party sites, such as GOV.UK, HMRC and Acas, for further information. We are not responsible for their content, availability or privacy practices.

7. Advertising

The site may display advertising, including ads served by Google, to keep the calculators free. Advertisers have no influence over calculator results or editorial content. A link from an advert is not an endorsement by us. How advertising cookies are used is explained in the Privacy Policy.

8. Availability

We aim to keep the site available but do not guarantee that it will be uninterrupted or free from errors, and we may change, suspend or remove any part of it at any time.

9. Our liability

The site is provided free of charge and on an "as is" basis. To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any loss or damage arising from your use of, or reliance on, the site or its results, including loss of income, tax, savings or opportunity. Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability that cannot be excluded or limited by law, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud.

10. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. The date at the top shows when they were last changed. Continuing to use the site after a change means you accept the updated terms.

11. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. If you live in Scotland or Northern Ireland, you may also bring proceedings in your local courts.

12. Contact
